Jan 15th 2011, Singing Hearts Children’s Choir held a demonstration performance in the media center on the 5th floor of Ruijin Community. Over 130 members joined this performance and over 300 guests attended. This activity was aimed at increasing communication and mutual learning between all classes, as well as showing the teaching achievements of this semester.
The Chorus Class adopted the Orff teaching method to present different musical cultures of different countries and languages through singing, rhythm cooperation and instrument playing. The Mozart Class adopted the Canon and Two-part works to present different styles in Chinese and Western cultures. The Beethoven Class presented western opera episodes, Chinese modern children’s works and traditional folk songs through a series of chorus training method demonstrating their great progress in depth of songs and harmonizing.
This demonstration performance presented the progressive nature of the different classes’ teaching objectives. It also demonstrated how the overall Singing Hearts’ teaching concept has inspired children’s artistic potential and allowed their voices to touch all of the participants.
