Singing Hearts Children’s Choir US Trip - Shanghai Performance

In the summer of 2011, the Singing Hearts Children’s Choir was invited by Jerry Sanders, the mayor of San Diego to hold a US summer camp. The purpose of the summer camp was “promoting international culture communication and improving international friendship.” Prior to leaving on the trip, 29 members completed ten days of intensified training to help prepare for the summer camp. On July 12th, 2011, the final day of training, the group performed in front of an audience at the auditorium of Shanghai Conservatory of Music, resulting in an amazing performance for all of those who attended.
The concert had four chapters, which were “Our hearts are Yearning”, “Harmony of Ancient Poems”, “Blooming of Jasmine Flowers”, and “Treasure of Music Box”. The Choir’s exquisite skills, devoted singing and detailed choreography touched the entire audience. The instructors include Mr. Weijie Li, the music director of Singing Hearts and Ms. Jingyu Wang, who graduated from the vocal department of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. In addition to the Singing Hearts Children’s Choir, the Shanghai Women’s Journalist Choir also performed at the concert, allowing the audience to hear another range of music style.
In less than three years, the Singing Hearts Children’s Choir has been committed to a meticulous teaching attitude, resulting in a strong foundation that will allow the Choir to continue growing in the future. Our children are able to gain an appreciation for the arts and experience the world through voice.  This gift will allow them to touch people throughout the world.
