On the afternoon of June 24, 2017, Musical Theatre Class A showcased scenes from The Lion King and Aladdin at the Children’s Palace in Changning District. For the 60 students, this was their first exposure to a well-rounded training program in musical theatre. Three hours every Saturday devoted to singing, dancing, acting, and saying lines, and you get to witness the fruits of their labor one year later with pride and joy.
On June 27, representatives from the class competed in The 1st Shanghai Youth Musical Theatre Summer Festival, and brought home Best Actor, Best Choreography, and Best Vocal Pedagogy.
None of this would be possible without the hard work of our students. Doing musical theatre has helped them discover the value of passion, commitment, and collaboration.
