Frozen Days vs. Fiery Chorus Camp

From January 22nd to 26th, Shanghai suddenly entered a deep freeze, but this did not curb the enthusiasm of the children at the Singing Hearts Winter Chorus Camp. Despite the chilly outdoors, the children woke up early each day, undeterred by the cold wind, and arrived on time in the classroom to start their journey exploring the allure of choral singing.

With ages ranging from 7 to 13, their differences in age did not impede their teamwork. In just four days, the children successfully rehearsed four choral pieces, each in a distinct style. Though still showing their youthful innocence, the harmony of multiple voices and the beauty of their ensemble sound had already taken root in their hearts.

Game time came with cheers during the fierce competition between groups. These games not only boosted the children’s team spirit but also helped them realize that in this loving, extended family, everyone is indispensable.

Singing Hearts also offered the children an "extra treat" by taking them to the concert hall of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. Guided by Associate Professor Li Weijie, the children delved into the world of "The Little Prince," experiencing piano sounds that were at times intense, elegant, and humorous. This "immersive sound drama" made every participant feel present, savoring life's precious moments.

On the final day of the camp, the venue shifted from the classroom to a professional recording studio. The children recorded the choral pieces they had learned, preserving memories of their five wonderful days.

At the closing ceremony, the children proudly displayed their choral achievements, creating many joyful moments. Bravo! A round of applause for all the members for their hard work over these five days! We look forward to their impressive performances on stage in May!
