Singing Hearts Hosts Music Therapy Session for Parents

On March 14th, Singing Hearts organized a unique musical experience for 22 parents. Participants temporarily set aside their social roles to explore music’s healing effects on physical and mental stress through guided body movements and choral interactions.

During the event, parents engaged in immersive musical exercises under professional instruction: forming hand-in-hand circles to simulate natural soundscapes, creating rhythmic patterns through thigh-slapping and foot-stomping, and improvising body expressions with props to the melody of Dancing in the Fields. Some closed their eyes to immerse themselves in the musical flow, while others spread their arms to sense sonic vibrations. In a subsequent scarf interaction segment, undulating colorful fabrics visualized sound waves, fostering unspoken coordination among participants.

The vocal training session layered bass and treble voices, evoking imagery of "the earth’s murmur" and "springs’ vitality," ultimately merging into warm harmonic textures. The closing circular procession, combining physical movement and vocal collaboration, dissolved initial unfamiliarity among attendees. Multiple parents noted that the 90-minute session offered temporary respite from societal roles, highlighting the emotional release enabled by non-performance-oriented musical engagement. One parent shared, "Letting go of phones and social identities to focus on synchronizing body and voice—this pure artistic participation restored inner calm."
