Voices Unite: Shanghai & Xinjiang Sing Together

On August 13, the Friendship Hall at Shanghai Exhibition Center hosted a heartwarming joint children's concert, bringing together young voices from Shanghai and Xinjiang. More than a performance, this book fair special event was a provement to SHCC's years of dedication to children's music education — and a vivid example of culture connecting communities.

📖 Voices on the Heart — A New Chapter in Music Education

The event also celebrated the launch of the book series Voices on the Heart: Children's Singing Enlightenment, designed to address three common challenges in early singing education: loss of interest, limited repertoire, and weak foundations.

Built on years of classroom practice, the series offers a step-by-step system covering music reading, singing, and interactive games. With 72 Chinese and international children's songs paired with audio and video resources, it supports learning across homes, schools, and training centers.

🤝 Singing Side by Side

A special highlight of the day was the joint performance with teachers and students from Bachu County, Kashgar, Xinjiang. After rehearsing together to blend their voices, the children from both regions performed Song of Unity and Sing A Ling side by side — using music to bridge distances, build friendships, and celebrate the rich diversity of Chinese culture.

🎵 More Than Singing

From the professional sharing session by Ye Ting and pianist Professor Li Weijie, to the children's choir performances and audience-wide music games, the event offered a complete showcase of SHCC's mature teaching philosophy. It's not just about teaching children to sing — it's about nurturing empathy, teamwork, and a sense of belonging through the power of music.

Looking ahead, SHCC will continue to develop and share systematic, science-based music education, helping more children discover joy, friendship, and beauty through song.
