The journey may be halfway over, but the daily surprises are not. During the day, parents traveled from Shanghai to spend some quality time with their children. In the evening, with the support of teachers and family, our students put on a flash mob performance at Suzhou Culture and Arts Centre. It must have felt magical being able to resonate with pedestrians surrounding them for a heightened moment and disappearing into the crowd once the song ends. Their courage to embrace a new challenge is applaudable.
As a reward, we watched Piano Battle together. The dueling pianists brought closure to the night with technical brilliance, humorous dialogues, and lively interactions with the audience. Music is beautiful. It has the capacity to reach deep into the human heart, onstage or in the street.
